The role of sodium thiosulfate in aquaculture

Big soda is the common name of sodium thiosulfate. The ingredient is sodium carbonate, which is alkaline when dissolved in water, so one of its functions is to adjust the pH balance of water quality in aquatic products. In fact, big soda has the following functions in aquatic products. :

1.Adsorption precipitation. Baking soda can absorb organic suspension in water and play the role of adsorption and sedimentation;

2.Remove residual chlorine in water. Big soda can reduce chlorine gas to hydrochloric acid. For ponds where chlorine preparations are often used, big soda can detoxify free chlorine in water;

3. It can be used to degrade pesticide toxins. The good reducibility of soda can be used to degrade the toxicity of organophosphorus pesticides, especially for fish poisoning symptoms caused by excessive organophosphorus pesticides;

4. It can degrade the toxicity of cyanide. The good ion exchange function of soda has a certain effect on reducing the toxicity of heavy metals in water;

5. Baking soda is sterilized in water. Big soda can release sulfur atoms in water, so it has a certain bactericidal effect;

6. Purify water quality. Big soda has a strong complexing effect, which can condense excessive suspended solids in the water body, improve the transparency of the water body, and achieve the effect of purifying water quality.
