Description of Sodium Metasilicate:
Sodium Metasilicate is white particles; Relative density: 1.0-1.3 ; Melting point: 1089℃. Non-toxic, tasteless, pollution-free, strong alkaline solution. Strong detergency and buffering ability. Easy soluble in water with good dispersiveness and emulsifying properties. It doesn’t dissolve in ethanol. It absorbs the moisture of the air and is deliquescent with carbon dioxide. It neutralizes acidic sewage and emulsifies fat and oils. It is effective for inorganic deflocculating and has a very strong corroding effect on metals.
Main Characteristic of Sodium Metasilicate:
1. soluble in water or in thin alkali, insoluble in alcohol or in acid.
2. The solution is alkaline, which presents detergency, emulsibility, dispersity, wettability, permeability
3. the buffer ability to the PH value, very hygroscopic and deliquescet when exposed to the air. Strong solution has a corroding effect on textile and skin.

Applications of Sodium Metasilicate:
Wash industry:
1.It has the strong capability of cleaning, widely used for the manufacture of a variety of detergents in detergent industry, so it is the best substitute for STPP, reducing environmental pollution.
2. Sodium metasilicate provides anti-corrosion protection to metals(zinc, aluminum,ets) and is used as metal cleaner and metal surface treatment agents.
Textile industry: Mainly used as printing and dyeing auxiliaries, fabric pre-treatment agent an as detergents in cooking and dyeing cotton yarn.
Paper & Printing industry: It can be used as adhesives, old paper deinking agent, paper surface treatment agent and printing detergent.
Ceramic industry: Used for sludge thinners,it is especially suitable for additives used in slip-casting forming and ceramic forming.
Metallurgical industry: Used as inhibitors and dispersing agent of silicon-containing minerals, smelting furnace dispersants, fast-drying agents, foundry and separating agents.
Construction field: Used for concrete dispersion agent and hardening accelerator, it is also used as coagulation accelerator.
